What should I expect during the weekend?

A lot of fun! There is a ton of outdoor activities, outlet mall shopping and tourist attractions that you can take advantage of during the day.  The weekend is a chilled laid back weekend in the mountains.  The event turns festive in the evening. The people are extremely friendly.  Falltacular is exciting weekend filled with nightly parties, workshops, live concerts, game day, outdoor activities (horseback riding, zip-lining and hiking)

How long has Falltacular been in existence?

The retreat started in 2001 as a private birthday retreat for Shawn Joyner.  In 2006, Shawn decided to open it to the public and rename it Falltacular.

What if I am coming alone?  Will you match me up with a roommate?

Yes, we do our best to accommodate our guest.  We try to match people who are coming alone with a roommate who shares the same interest.

Falltacular Demographics

Falltacular is geared towards professional gay, lesbian, bisexual and gay friendly people.  We are expecting close to 400 people from across the country. 
 

Male 65%      Female 35%

 

A little over half of the participants come from the Atlanta Metro Area.  A lot of participants come from Texas, DC, Miami and Charlotte.  There were 14 states represented at Falltacular 2011

What should I bring?

The weekend is laid back. Most people bring casual warm clothes (jeans, jacket, sweaters and long T shirts).  Pajamas for The Pajama Party, Bathing Suit/Shorts for the  Pool Party and Jacuzzi Tubs, Tennis Shoes for The Ole School Field Day and Horseback Riding.

What are the weather conditions during this time of year?
October weather conditions are normally clear.  The average high is 69 degree and average low is 56 degree.

 

What is the nearest airport?

Knoxville Airport     approximately 45 minutes
Atlanta Hartsfield    approximately 3 1/2 hrs
Charlotte Airport     approximately 3 1/2 hrs

 

The party bus will leave Atlanta Hartsfield Airport Blue terminal lower level on November 5, 2015 at 11am and return November 8, 2015 at 3pm.

How much should I bring in spending money?

Depends on what you want to do. You really don't need much spending money.  However if you want to take advantage of some of the tourist attractions here is a breakdown of how much you can expect to pay:

 

Horseback Riding: $25 Putt Putt Golf: $15 Haunted House $13
 

Various Ripley's Attractions range from $10-$23.  Smoky Mountain National Park is FREE.  We will have coupons available for most of the attractions.

Are the parties and nightly shows open to the public?

The parties are only for registered Falltacular guest and will be closed to the public.  Falltacular guest will be identified by a special wristband.
